Today my parents came over to take us clothes shopping. Now, none of us are any good at clothes shopping. Martin and I are not into fashion and have mostly been wearing the same clothes for years, whatever we find comfortable. I do get sick of seeing myself wearing the same things all the time though so I did try to make the effort, but we only went to one shop (and one supermarket) and saw very few things that I liked the look of. This is the only thing I tried on, and I liked enough so I bought it:
The only other top that I liked wasn't stocked in my size so I only got this one. I was also after a pair of canvas shoes but I have silly sized feet and nothing ever fits right it seems.
After that we went to the supermarket to buy some picnic food, and we went to a nearby park as my dad, as usual, wanted to go putting! It was such a warm day but we'd slathered ourselves in sun cream first so I don't seem to have burned this time, but poor Martin is in bed with a too-much-sun headache.
The food was very nice and we have the same again for later if we get hungry again. (Which we no doubt will as we ate earlyish, plus we have big tummies.)
There were gardens with a ton of lavender in it, the bees were so happy!
And a fountain, with a memorial on for the person who donated the park.
I'm really hoping the worst of my not-feeling-so-good-time has passed now and I can get back to felting tomorrow. Still got those poor owls to finish before I'll be happy enough to move on to something else. I'm sure we'll be scared of the sun for a few days now so staying in and felting will be good!
