Simple joys, entry 102.

Please excuse me, I've not been so good at keeping this blog updated lately!

There has been lots happening though. :)

I've made another badger:

Her name is Hermione and she is off to France to sit in someone's Christmas tree. :)

I sent a couple of things off to a lovely cat rescue place in Plymouth, so they can raffle or auction them to raise a little money. I hope to do this again in the future and fingers crossed it helps even a little bit! When growing up, we had 3 cats over the years. The first one we had was old when I was young and he didn't like me much as I tried to pick him up a lot and he was very grumpy. The second cat we got we got from a shelter and it was love at first sight for my mum! He purred so loudly and settled into her arms so easily we knew it had to be that one. He was a beautiful tortoiseshell long haired cat, very loving but sadly we only had him a few years before he was killed by a car. :( The last cat we got we got as a kitten and I still miss him now, he was also killed by a car. Whenever I go home to my parents house I expect him to be lying in his favourite places asleep, or pounce out at me when I walk up the garden path. We used to play a game ever since he was tiny where I would lift him up and he would swat at spiders or flies. Even when he was fully grown (he was huge! Not fat, just really big) and I would pick him up he would still look around for something to swat at. <3 I'll never be able to have another cat as it's too heartbreaking to lose them in that way. This is why I have huge respect for people who look after the ones who don't have nice homes for whatever reason.

Then I made this Angel Bear for a friend.

Cindy, a lady I have never met but known for a lot of years online, sadly lost her granddaughter while she was being born. She'd mentioned beforehand that she'd like something special made for the baby, and this is what we came up with after the heartbreaking news. There will be a celebration of life dinner held for her, with a box people can put things in. Cindy will put this bear in with a letter she's going to write and they will release wish lanterns.

I've made another stocking bear too.

And as I type I have little carrot noses baking in the oven for some snowmen decorations. Those should be cute. :)
We're very close to finishing the series we've been watching. It's always a strange feeling to watch something over a few months and then for it to end! But still... We'll be onto the Christmas movies next. ;) Including Star Wars and the Harry Potters hopefully. Not very Christmassy but we don't care! We have Polar Express, the Hogfather, Love Actually and Christmas Vacation as well and I'll be on the lookout for more.
We've also been playing World of Warcraft and we're very close to maximum level now. It's been enjoyable to play together again and see new content and hopefully we'll still have plenty to do for a while yet. It's always nice to have things to watch and play in winter when it's a bit cold for walking.
OK, I've yapped on for long enough for one day, bye for now. :)
