Hi everyone. :) I have decided to start blogging again and I have deleted all my old posts for a nice fresh start!
This time last year I had just moved in to my little flat... The first time I've ever lived on my own. It was all very daunting and exciting! After a dodgy first 24 hours of crying and shivering all night, I settled in well and really started to appreciate having my own space!
This time last year I had just moved in to my little flat... The first time I've ever lived on my own. It was all very daunting and exciting! After a dodgy first 24 hours of crying and shivering all night, I settled in well and really started to appreciate having my own space!

I've had to battle quite a few things along the way, the main one being my social anxieties. I got ill when I was 15 and wasn't able to get out much, so I became nervous over the years and would try to avoid going out on my own as much as possible as I would take panic attacks. I went on for more than 10 years of not really having much of a life and I finally got to the point that I wanted to try and change myself for the better. I had always wanted to live by the sea and it's been wonderful to have that come true. I wanted to be in a village that was quite quiet and peaceful... and this one is mostly that, apart from in summer when there is an arts festival on!
My parents came to visit me almost every week and we went on lots of nice days out. I took billions (at least!) of photos of beaches and never got bored of going to them.

One of our favourite things to do is to look for blue sea glass. We find it very soothing! Though, sometimes my mum has been known to push people out of the way if she sees a nice bit. ;) If I see a bit, it's probably one of the rare times when I will actually run to get it first! My dad is blind as a bat and yet he still holds the record for finding the biggest piece. :) It is one of those great things that suits us all, even with our different age ranges.

When I wasn't out with my family, I was of course at home making! My newly found space and freedom (ie, a whole flat in which to spread wool and craft supplies and no one around to complain about it!) was proving to be very peaceful and good for my creativity. :) I'd never even been to the post office before on my own so I really was starting from scratch when I moved here.

Not all of the photos below were made while I was here, but they wanted to be in the picture. There were of course a few sea themed ones at the start which were such fun to make and who could blame me for making them! I am a strong believer in the bears having their own ideas and personalities and I often start making one thing and end up with something completely different... in the best way possible. :) I feel very lucky and have been blessed with wonderful customers who I can't thank enough. Some of these were ideas from said wonderful customers and I loved making them, as they were things I'd not have thought to do myself and also very challenging!

So lovely to hear how you are doing so well, in more than one way by the sounds of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat to know that you've overcome so much and are happier and stronger for it.

Hi Jules. :) It's certainly been a year full of change! I still have a long way to go, but I am getting there. :) Thanks for your comment. Xxx
