Picnics.

I really love eating outside. I'm not sure why, but maybe it is because I have spent so many years stuck indoors. Maybe it reminds me of the many picnics we had when I was young and all the good times.

We recently bought a food flask with the thought of using it for soups and stews and things. But sadly the one we got isn't very good. It doesn't seal properly and so it leaks. Which isn't much fun when it has hot soup inside. Still, we got it to where we wanted and it was still warm.

Martin made the soup in the slow cooker and it was very tasty. He's a very good cook! :) It was even nicer to eat it outside in the park.

We went out again yesterday. It was a very warm day and we went to the woods this time, for a bit of shelter from the sun.

We had quite a lot of things with us: 2 flasks as they are small and he loves his tea, a container with sandwiches in, and milk for the tea. We also fetched strawberries and cream from the shop... (But amazingly haven't touched them yet! We have plans for them tonight with a film though.) My bag was a bit heavy and so, like the gentleman he is, he wore it.

He looked very cute!

When we got to the woods and found a way down to the burn/stream, the first thing I did was take my socks and shoes off to dip them in the water. It was freezing, but it really helped me cool down.

I don't do very well with too much sun.
I don't tan, I just get a little more freckly!
Then on the way home I saw a pretty flower.
When not picnicking I have made a few little things.
Firstly some simple hedgehog brooches.
And then a cupcake bear.
And Little Miss Strawberry got a new basket for her strawberries as the one I (badly) wove with paper fell to bits.
She is still for sale, on my Facebook page or in my Folksy shop!
Off out with my parents tomorrow, lets hope it's not too hot! Xxx
