Craigtoun Park.

When I was little my parents would take me to Craigtoun Park near St Andrews where we would go on the boats and play putting. We all really enjoyed it but sadly it closed down a few years ago when the council decided they didn't want to pay to maintain it anymore.

It reopened on the 29th of June and is mainly being run by volunteers and donations.

We went to see what it was like a few days ago! It was a very warm day and my poor neck got very burnt but we had a wonderful day. The boats were up and running and the putting was back on, though in a different spot to what we remembered. It was very busy with people relaxing on the grass, picnicking and some BBQing. It was really great to see. :)

Here are some photos we took of the day.

In the car on the way, excited!

We played putting two times and dad won both times! ...as usual. ;)

We took some cute photos of us! Most of which I can't show as he is shy and doesn't like to be splashed about the Internet, despite being very lovely and cute in photos! It makes me a bit sad as I love taking photos and it makes me happy to share with you what I love! Still, I got permission to show this one, so that's a start. :)

One of the things dad used to love most was the rowing boats. So of course we had to go on one. :) Martin and I sat together, hand in hand.
Despite being 75 in a few days, my dad did all the rowing, and he did it very well! He really enjoys it.
Mum didn't go in the boat with us, but stood at the side and watched. Dad was rowing towards her so she could get some photos when the miniature train went past at a good moment for my photo!
This building in the water used to be a cafe, but it's been shut down for a long time. I think they are using it as some sort of staff room now. :)

There is a bridge that you can go under with the boats too. The people in front tried to go in side by side and some of them nearly had their faces squished against the sides of the bridge. Not a good idea!

Dad steered us under no bother, with some help with directions from Martin. :)

After that we went round the park on the back of the tractor as the queue for the train was very long.

I didn't get a good photo of the actual tractor, but this was my view from my seat.

Then on the way back to the car we saw some swans.
We had a really lovely day and I would recommend the park to anyone who lives in or visits Fife! We will definitely go again. Xxx
