Simple joys, entry 79.

Today, after taking a couple of parcels to my post office, we jumped on a bus and headed to a not-too-far-that-I-get-bus-sick seaside village for a little bit of a change of scenery!

We thought it's rain, but it was beautiful sunshine the whole day, just very very windy. ;)

We went to visit a lighthouse:

The view was lovely and although the wind was very nearly blowing us over, it was very refreshing! We didn't linger too long though as we'd spotted something the other direction and it was hard to stand still here.

We'd spotted a small ruin of what we later read to have been a changing room for a rather well to do lady from long ago. She used it when she wanted to go sea bathing and she'd have someone go round the village with a bell to tell people to keep away when she was there!

And of course we had to take more photos of us! The wind was a wee bit on the extreme side though. ;)

Inside the building, with our hair a little bit more tamed, we took this one:

Next we went back to the village and walked around the streets, looking in people's gardens and chatting. We walked back the beach way.

Then I was very tired as it'd been quite a lot of walking and even with all the wind keeping the temperature down I was struggling a bit it's the sun. Also, I'd forgotten to bring my hat and a drink! So we went for food then.

We'd not been to eat here before but it seemed quite popular with lots of people sitting outside enjoying the nice weather. We went inside as I'd had enough of the nice weather at this point. ;)

There were 2 separate areas inside and we had the whole part to ourselves which was really nice!

We'd semi-brushed our hair by the time I took these photos, so as not to scare people but I'm not looking forward to getting it properly brushed! It's so tuggy.

We both had a burger:

With bacon and cheese. So good! We shared a portion of potato wedges too and it was very nice.

We were a bit full after that but my head was starting to hurt and I wanted to cool it down, so...

I somehow ended up with this. A Millionaires Sundae. Oh my. It was so nice. It had huge chunks of Millionaires shortcake in it!

Martin said he couldn't eat another thing but he somehow ended up with:

An Eton Mess Sundae! Looked amazing too, I might try that next time. ;) Oh by the way... These were "small" ones!

We're sooo full now though. It's not a regret as such, just a bit of a feeling of letting myself down. I think these sorts of foods are fine, they're great even, but it's the rest of the time that I need to be more careful. Treats should be treats and not very often! You should have seen the huge portion of spaghetti we ate yesterday... It's not good. I have a weakness for food. I wish I could get back that determination I had before, to eat better and lose weight again. I looked and felt so much better back then! I go on about it, but it needs to happen. I'll find a way to get back into that frame of mind.

Mum and dad are not coming to visit tomorrow which is a small relief as I will need a rest. They are coming on Sunday instead, so I will start on my next order tomorrow perhaps or I will work more on my witch. We'll see what seems the best idea in the morning. :)

It's been a lovely day though, thank you to my Martin for sharing it with me. <3
