Simple joys, entry 107.

It's nearly time to pull out the Christmas movies! We're first watching the Star Wars movies. We're attempting one each night but we missed one last night. Hopefully there will still be plenty of time to watch those and these ones too! We had hoped to watch the Harry Potters and the Indiana Jones as well, but of course there's never enough time and we always underestimate how long everything takes. :)

I added 2 to our little collection this year and we've already watched both Bridget Jones and also The Holiday.

I am especially looking forward to Elf, The Polar Express and It's a Wonderful Life. :)

I think I've only seen Elf once so it'll be good to see it again as I remember enjoying it the first time!

The Polar Express is very magical and I love the story.

Martin hasn't seen It's a Wonderful Life before so it'll be interesting to see what he thinks of it. I hope he enjoys it!

Christmas Vacation is a movie my family has been watching for a while now each Christmas. It's always good for a laugh and makes me smile.

Miracle on 34th Street is another great Christmas story which'll be nice to see again.

Then there is my favourite, which we'll watch on Christmas Day at night, snuggled under a blanket... Probably with chocolate cake. :D Love Actually has all my favourite things in it! Plus, Colin Firth and Alan Rickman... Can't go far wrong with those in it. :) I'd happily watch this any time of the year but we've been saving it especially!

My lovely Martin bought me this chocolate lollipop the other day, which has since been nommed. I needed a chocolate fix but we had nothing in the house, so he went and found this at our local bakers. :) He is seriously lovely.

We have redeemed the Chocolate situation today by doing some shopping. We now have plenty of pralines to munch on. We also picked up some of the things we'll be having for our Christmas dinner... We're having roast gammon again, same as last year because neither of us likes turkey. We will have all the trimmings with it though, and it'll be so good!

Today we had a nice day with my parents and a nice meal out. We exchanged presents now because we probably won't see each other again till the new year, but we won't open them till Christmas Day. They are not going to have their Christmas dinner this year as mum is working and dad'll be home alone.

Hopefully we can have a little get together for New Year instead, and we'll make some nice party food for them like we did last Boxing Day. :)

Really love this time of year, but I hope that next year it'll be in a new, warmer home with a dog. The dog will be spoiled rotten of course and I'll make him or her a stocking to fill with treats!
