Spring has sprung.

Hello and welcome Spring! I've been looking forward to spring all winter as it's been extra depressing this year and I can't wait for nice walks, picnics and mini adventures. :)

This week has actually been a lot about nice days out and mini adventures. Monday was my mums birthday so we went to Comrie to the Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre. The weather was perfect with the sun shining but it wasn't too warm for walking around, which was great for us vampire types.

We'd been before a few times and it didn't disappoint this time either. I love animals and there were lots of friendly ones there, or at least grumpy ones with funny personalities! (Click on the picture below to see the video.)

And some more snippets of video:

Such a great day, the highlight for me was getting to feed the lemurs. They were incredibly gentle and were careful not to bite us, though if we were too slow to give them their fruit they weren't afraid to grab it out of our hands. :) They were lovely.

Thursday was another day out as mum had some rare time off work so wanted to make the most of it. It was another good day but the weather wasn't too good and it was a bit cold for wandering. (Click below for video.)

We still had a nice time though, a picnic in the car, met 4 dogs in coats, saw seals on the rocks and had a walk. We stopped in at a cafe for drinks which was nice too.

Friday was back to work and I made a little mouse for an order. This was one I'd tried to make on Tuesday but it didn't go well, and even this one gave me some bother!

Thankfully he turned out well in the end and the lady who asked for him likes him so he'll be off to his new home soon. :)

In other news, I ordered a drop spindle to have a play with and I've made some small bits of wool already.

That was the first bit I made and I've made slightly better ones since. I still need lots of practice but it's actually quite a lot of fun. :) I'm hoping to use some on my packaging, to hang my tags from.

I think I'd like them to be slightly thinner for the tags so next time I'm going to try to draft less wool. At the moment I struggle to keep it even all the way along but hopefully with practice I'll get better. I also find it very difficult to get the amount of spin right and usually twist too much which makes plying go a bit wrong. Still, I think I am learning as I go and it needn't be absolutely perfect. :)

We finally finished the Harry Potter audiobooks and they were so good! Absolutely loved them and will look forward to listening again in a year or so. (Maybe even sooner.) I would recommend them to anyone, any age! We've now started on One Day, which I've not read before. (But have seen the film.)

Tomorrow I'll be making a start on a couple of sloth orders. I think I'll do them at the same time so I can just blend a big batch of the wool, which it might easier. :) I'm hoping to squeeze in another rabbit or 2 before Easter, but that will have to be played by ear!

I hope you've had a lovely weekend, thanks for reading.
