Days out.

Hello. :) Tomorrow is my Mums birthday so we're heading out for the day. We're off to an animal farm to see some donkeys, meerkats and other things! We've been before and it usually makes for a nice day out. I've emptied and charged my camera in preparation as I love to take photos and it'll be a great place to do it. :)

Mum's managed to get some time off work so we already had a day out and we have another planned too! On Thursday we drove to another of the Fife coastal villages, one we'd not been to in a while and it was the first time there for Martin. After all, we live in such a lovely area there's not often a need to travel too far to see something pretty, but sometimes a little change is nice. We had beautiful weather and it was actually quite warm! We had a nice walk and some yummy food. That burger was ginormous! I didn't need anything else for the rest of the day. LOL. :) (Click below for a short video.)

As for work, I managed to make a lovely bear with a little tree chair and pond scene. I love these ones so much, they seem to really appeal to my creativity! It reminds me of when I used to do digital paintings, my go-to pieces would consist of some sort of water and/or trees. I guess it's where my heart lies. :)

I used some of the sparkly nylon fibres in the pond to make it a bit shiny. :) Such fun! I absolutely loved making the log chair.

And I also made another sloth, for a lovely regular customer. I couldn't be more grateful to people who keep returning to me! The little sloth is pretty excited too!

He'll be off on his way tomorrow. :)

The downside with detailed pieces like the bear with the log chair is that it takes a few days to make. It is (for me) completly worth it, but I only have 2 things to show you this week! The day out also means one less day of work and I also had this weekend off to recover from a busy week as my body doesn't care if I'm working hard or out enjoying myself, it considers it all the same in terms of energy usage. (Actually, sometimes the fun stuff is even more tiring!)

In the coming week we have 2 days out planned and I have a mouse to make and another sloth, we'll have to see how that goes in terms of pacing myself as it sounds like a lot to squeeze in! I'm on some medication now for my high blood pressure so at least I don't have to head back to the doctor for a couple of weeks which helps with my time (and stress levels) a bit. I am also to head to the hospital at some point to get a chest X-ray which sounded scary at first but I'm assured it's standard practice for people with high blood pressure. There's no hurry for that one though and since Martin and me will be heading there on the bus we'll make a day of it and wander round the shops too as it's a town we don't usually go to as it's a bit further away. I've never had an X-ray before so it could be interesting, I hope I get to see it! I don't often get chances to see inside my own body after all. :D

Thanks for reading.
