Things I'll miss.

9 things I'll miss about my little flat:

1) Having my own space.

2) The village.

3) Some of the familiar faces. (Even if I don't know their names, or have spoken to them much!)

4) The man in the Ice Cream shop.

5) The coastal walks.

6) The man in a neighbouring village post office who always calls me "Young Lady".

7) The amazing fish and chips in the other neighbouring village!

8) Cheap bills because it's so small and has no gas.

9) The independence it gave me, which forced me to have more confidence and get on with things.

And 9 things I'll not miss:

1) The fact that I seem to have picked the windiest street in the world to live in for the past year.

2) The rattling of the cooker vent when it's very windy.

3) The old man upstairs who walks about in the middle of the night on his creaky floor. (It sometimes sounds like he is going to come through the ceiling at any second!)

4) The random car alarm that seems to go off several times a day, almost every day.

5) The cold! There is no proper heating here, stone walls, no insulation, holes in places, drafts... It's always cold in here.

6) Lots of slugs and snails everywhere whenever there is a tiny bit of rain.

7) The tiny living room (which is also my craft room!) and kitchen is the same room.

8) There is only a tiny shower room, no bath.

9) Being lonely.

And 9 things I am looking forward to about my new place:

1) A bit more space. (Though there will be 2 of us.)

2) Having a lovely long soak in a warm bath.

3) Separate kitchen.

4) Gas cooker.

5) Radiators!!!

6) Having a back door. (And a small part of a garden which is shared with the neighbour.)

7) It's a bungalow so there will be no one above to keep me awake all night wondering if he will come through the ceiling or not. :)

8) A new village to explore and a huge beach to comb!

But the thing I am looking forward to best of all, is:

9) Who I'll be sharing it, my time and my life with. :)
