After we'd checked things, I went back to the flat and waited for my van men to arrive, leaving Martin to wait for the gas man and plumber. I felt so guilty for leaving him there on his own while I got ready to move in! My van men are great but the flat is very small, so I stood outside while they moved things about. I looked up to see one of them trying to pack a chair not belonging to me into the van and my mum running about shouting that it was part of the flat. :) They are always so keen to help that they kept asking about everything else too. "Is the fridge going too?" And they actually seemed disappointed that I didn't have more stuff!
Martin still doesn't have his stuff from England yet, but we've settled in nicely now. It's always tough going without Internet for a while though... I really didn't realise how huge a part of my everyday life it is. The amount of times we said "I don't know, I'll google it" before realising we couldn't or simple things like checking online to see where shops are... I really didn't realise how much I used it for! Not to mention not being able to order shopping. :) Luckily we had thought about that one beforehand and ordered stuff to come on the evening on the 3rd.
The bears and things are settled in too, some have claimed space on one of our windowsills.
And I have the strawberries up in the kitchen on the cupboard door handles.
Unfortunately Martin has pulled 2 of them to bits already and I keep having to put them back together. I guess it wasn't the greatest idea usability wise, but they certainly do pretty the kitchen up a bit!
The living room isn't quite finished yet... Because Martin doesn't have his stuff here yet we don't have all the things we plan to have in it yet. But I think this area will mostly stay as is.
On the mantelpiece I have put the Home Sweet Home wooden wedgey thingy that I found on the beach and then painted. The thing in the middle was something I gave him for Valentines Day. I didn't have any photos to put in it at the time so that is still a work in progress too!

This little bee you might remember from Valentines too. :)
And these little ones are very special. It needs a little bit of explaining though, so bear with me for a bit. (LOL)
Firstly, the stone seat represents the first time we met. We went for a walk together and I took him to a similar one and we sat and talked there.
The tree represents our relationship. We have strong roots of friendship that have kept us in touch all these years even when the distance was killing us. We are growing together and becoming stronger each day. The black thing at the back is a glove. We had an emotional chat one day at the start of things and didn't have any tissues, so I ended up with a snotty glove. :)
When I gave this to him earlier in the year I had only made one tiny bear for it, and he said that he looked lonely and that he looked like he was waiting for his partner. We agreed that when we finally lived together that he wouldn't be on his own anymore... So when we moved in together, I was to make another one and they would be together too. Now they can cuddle on the stone seat together forever. :)
We have only been here 2 weeks and already we've had some amazing moments. Like when we went out to fill in some forms and had forgotten to take a pen with us, the world provided us with one. Lying at our feet outside the office where we thought we needed to be. Along with a random bolt like the one we needed for our bed. It really felt like someone was looking out for us at the moment.
Then we had a heart shaped carrot one day:
And yesterday we spent most of the day trying to fix my bed which has been a bit wobbly since we moved. It seemed perfect once he'd finished tightening it all... But when I got in it at night I somehow managed to break it completely and now it's no more. We have no idea what happened, the crack didn't even really look possible. I'm sure it would have held together for a bit longer, but I really didn't want to risk it collapsing during the night so we slept on the mattress on the floor... Which was surprisingly comfortable if a bit low down. So we shall be on the hunt for a new bed very soon! I wanted a new one anyway, but it was still an accident, promise. :)
Yesterday also we had an indoor picnic. The weather was a bit odd... We roasted during the night and in the morning but when we got up it turned a bit cold and rainy. We decided it'd be best to eat indoors. We put the picnic blanket on the floor and ate there. He put some piano music on in the background and we pretended we were on a grassy bit, and the piano was being played by a bunny. There are a lot of them around here... Not sure about piano playing ones however. We had a wonderful moment of him saying something random at the exact moment I thought the same thing. It has happened a few times now, it's such an amazing feeling. Especially when it is something silly that one of us didn't say in case it came across as daft... But when both are thinking the same thing it's such a wonderful feeling to know that the other is just as crazy as you. :)
Lastly for now, and just because I find it adorable, he makes himself 2 cups of tea at a time! I find it so cute.
I really can't wait to find out what wonderful things will happen in the following days, months and years together.
Thank you for reading. :) xxx
