Well, that's it for another year and it's been another good one. :) A huge thank you to all my friends, family, fans and followers! (Ooh, all the F's!) Life is so much better when you have people to share it with, both the good moments and the bad. I've "met" lots of lovely new people online and made lots of friends.
Here's a round up of some of my favourite bits.
I've made many many things this year and these are just a few of my favourites:
I think I've been asked by customers and chosen myself to make more new and different things than any other year and it's been great fun, and very challenging. There's been hares and horses, dogs and Draculas, turtles and teddy bears, Merbears, fairy bears, elephants, Angels, polar bears and snowmen... And lots more besides! I have truly loved making every one of them, even the ones that didn't turn out so well and especially the ones that surprised me. Sometimes I have a clear image of what I expect something to look like and when it turns out completely different it is usually a great thing as the personality of each individual piece shines through. They choose who they want to be!
I've also had lots of good moments in my personal life:
From picnics to puppy walks, to putting and film watching.
Our first holiday together with my parents in May was very special and we had a wonderful time with many great memories. The weather was mostly bad but we still managed to do everything we wanted to do and see so no regrets! One of my favourite days of the year was in summer when we spontaneously decided to paddle in the sea and we couldn't have chosen a better day for it... The water was actually warm! Any day we went after that, even if the sun was shining and the air was hot... The water wasn't. I really loved that day! We've watched lots of tv series this year and they've all been enjoyable. Loved all our beach walks, walks in the woods, random wandering a round the village and all the picnics we had. Speaking of which:
Food has played a big part in our lives and we've had many nice meals out and picnic days both inside and out. But we have piled on the weight and so for 2015 we will be cutting back. Way back. Not as many meals out, and for picnics we'll hopefully go for lower fat options. At home we'll be having much smaller portion sizes and not having the midnight pizza, the cake and the all the bad stuff! We'll in no way be depriving ourselves of all that we enjoy, but we'll be eating much less, and hopefully walking more as well. I have an online friend who has suggested we do a weekly "weigh in" together so we can encourage and help each other. :) Our first one will be on the 5th of January!
And, probably the best thing in our life this year has been this little guy:
I first saw him in April when our neighbour came to the door to ask something. A tiny little head and a paw popped out her back door and it was so brief and so tiny that I thought I'd imagined it. A few days later we met him properly. He was so so tiny and so very shy and scared, but we loved him instantly. At first we tried to see him as much as we could and when he was big enough we took him for his first walks. Sadly the relationship with his owner and us has not gone so good so we don't see him much now, but he is still very much loved and thought of daily.
I knew nothing of Shih Tzus before we met Muffin but now I can't imagine a better breed of dog for us. :) I am hoping with all my heart that 2015 will be a good year for us. A new place to live and a new puppy of our own and so much love and happiness to share with it!
Happy New Year everyone and all the best to you and yours.
