Illnesses and fighting back!

So it happened. The bug I had finally showed it's ugly head. Definetely not a nice day on Friday but I am so glad it's over and I can start recovering now and getting back to as normal as possible!

On Friday morning I managed to make this one:

A guinea pig dragon. Not my best design perhaps, but she is quite cute. :) I had an image in my mind of how I wanted her to look and it didn't work out as intended but that's not to say she is not still lovely in her own right!

After I'd made her and taken and posted her photos online I went to make lunch. Just a simple lunch of pitta bread with some cheese. I've not had an appetite in at least 2 weeks so eating has been difficult and some days I've had to force myself. I've been trying to carry on as normal as I could, but Friday afternoon was the day that whatever virus/bug I had hanging about decided it was time! While sprinkling cheese on my pitta I started to get really bad tummy pains so I had to abandon it and head to the bathroom. I was very sick for what seemed like hours and poor Martin had to rescue me and help me get cleaned up. Poor thing, he always puts up with so much with me. :( I wasn't in a very good way: my lips and fingers were blue and I had some really horrible pains in my stomach, and couldn't stop shivering. I felt so weak and I really wasn't sure what to do. I'd not have made it out of there without his help and I am so so thankful for all he does for me! He managed to help me get to bed with a hot water bottle and I had a little sleep. Managed to drink some water in the evening and we watched some Dr Who. :)

I've not been sick again since, but I'm feeling very fragile inside. Kind of feels like someone has used me as a punching bag and I'm having to take walking, sitting and standing a bit slow as both my tummy and back are hurting. Also laughing, coughing and sneezing is a bit painful too. But on the plus side I feel quite good otherwise! Still no appetite, but I'm not feeling near as drained as I had been over the past couple of weeks. This surely means I'm on the mend!

Today I've managed 2 rows of crochet, which might not sound like much but when things were "normal" for me this was my limit before my arm starts hurting. When I was ill I was lucky if I'd manage one row as I was just so tired! So this makes me happy. I'm hoping to do some felting tomorrow. :)

I'm still taking it a bit easy and in bed a lot of the time, but I definetely feeling like I can fight a bit harder now to get things back on track.

The rainbow helps too. :)

Fingers crossed things will be back to normal so we can have a nice summer, as there is lots I'd like to do. :)
