On the 3rd of June it was our 2 year anniversary and day 5 of our holiday. During the day we went to a place where we could see an old stone circle and do a walk that had a cairn at the end of it. Well, both of those were a bit fail as we found neither of them and both walks were too long and would have required much fitter people than us.
After that we found a stunning pond with a cafe and we stopped to have tea and cake... Or in my case, hot chocolate and a cheese scone. I also ate half of dads chocolate cake but that really wasn't needed. ;) The scone was delicious!
We had a wander round the pond afterwards and the sun was shining and it was beautiful, we later wished we'd just gone there in the first place.
And there was a small woodland with a burn too.
So what started off as a fail day turned into one of the best we've had weather wise and the area was lovely too. :)
When we got home we decided to have a romantic dinner for 2 of pizza and chips and we had it outside. (We are simple folk.) It was a wee bit touch and go for a minute or 2 as we had a little rain shower but it behaved when we got out there.
I have to mention the perfect oven chips at this point because they were so so good! Just look at them! The oven here is fan assisted and it just cooks things to perfection. They were perfectly crisp outside and fluffy inside and they looked like they'd just come from a professional chef for a fancy food magazine. Amazing cooker!
After that we had a Belgian Cheesecake of Chocolate Orange Joy. Which was posh Belgian Cheesecake with added Chocolate Orange Pot of Joy as we (I) bought too many and we are running out of days to eat them. :( Holidays go too fast.
Today we had a bit of a rude awakening as a crow landed on our bedroom windowsill and was flapping his wings against the glass and squawking to get someone's attention. Someone staying here before us must have been feeding him and he was expecting his breakfast. :)
A little later on we went to a marine life centre and took lots of photos of fish. :)
We got a cup of tea at Banff and I spotted this guy in a shop window! LOL :)
Then it was home to relax and Martin and me had chicken and chips in the sunroom. :) We're going to miss this room the most. It's so quiet and always light, but never too warm. We absolutely love it!
It's going to be very sad to go home and return to normal after this. Especially since we don't love the house we have and aren't allowed a dog there. I'm going to really miss the animals here!
Bye for now,
