Goodbye 2015.

So the end of the year is here and I am quite happy to welcome 2016. This year hasn't been a very good one for me health and happiness wise so I'm keen to wave goodbye to it and to start a new one hoping for better things to come. :)

Despite being a bad year, there have been lots of good moments too. As always, I love my work and creating and sharing and this one has been a good one for those things. Here are just a few of my favourites that were born this year:

There's been lots of new things including little needle felted paintings, Santa Bears and not to forget the now very popular Orangutans! I'm sure these will continue and I have lists of new things to make. I hope to find time to get back to my roots a little more and to make bears with little scenes and accessories. There are a couple above but I want to make even more as they are the things that I made when I first started this particular creative journey and they make me the happiest as I get to listen to the little voice of a bear and let it guide me and tell me what it wants. :)

I hope to focus slightly more on my Etsy shop too, and fill it full of lots of pretty things. I will of course still be taking custom orders from my lovely repeat customers and new ones, but I'm hoping that I can find a good balance between both and having a good stock of things in my shop to entice even more lovely people.

I will continue also with my sticker making and finally open my shop! I hope to find time for some more digital paintings too and maybe I'll think about making some cards and things with the designs. It'd be nice to do a little bit of crochet again and I'd love to find the time and creativity to write more to a story that I started many many years ago! It is a dream of mine to finish it but I never seem to have the inclination to get back to it!

My prices will be going up a little in the new year, but all orders of £30 or more will have free p&p and there will be voucher codes with discounts too. :)

In our life in between making things we had some nice days out, as always. By ourselves and with my parents too:

As you know, I love the sea and so it features a lot in my photos and I spend some of my favourite days there. We enjoyed a few games of putting too which I actually did really well at for once! A very special day was a trip on a boat to a little island to see a beautiful old abbey called Inchcolm. I will never forget that day, it was beautiful.

The best week was when we went on holiday. I have so many happy memories from that week even though it sped past in a blur! On my low moments since then I have looked at the photos and wished we were back there. I wrote blog posts while we were away and you can see them HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. With lots of photos and good times!

We love food, so naturally we've eaten lots of it and as usual gained a ton of weight which we will try to combat in the new year. ;) We'll be cutting back, way back, and hoping to shift a few pounds... Or a couple of stone in my case!

The year going forward is set to be a better one than this as we have finally been given permission to have a dog in this house! So we don't have to move, we get to stay in this beautiful area and I can finally stop looking and stressing about having to find us somewhere new to live. I can't tell you how good that will be! As for getting our new furry family member, well we have some work to do first. We have gathered an excess of stuff that will need to be sorted out to give puppy as much space as possible. Boxes and packaging I was saving for "when we move" will no longer need to be kept and taking up space. This won't be an easy task as we can't drive so it'll be a slow process of removing stuff as and when we can, but we will tackle it in the first week of January. Since we'll be setting stronger roots here we may as well make it as much of a home as we can, but with slightly less clutter. :)

Our life will be a lot brighter with our new family member and I'm thinking having a puppy will help with a lot of my depression. They have a way of finding fun in the simplest of things and loving people so unconditionally that I don't think I'll be able to be too sad. Plus we will be playing with it and walking a lot more and spending some lovely days together, I am so looking forward to it. :)

Here are some of my favourite "Us" photos of the year.

As for Christmas, we were quite late to get our tree up this year as I had been too low to be in the mood for it all, but Martin did it anyway and I was glad he did. The little Angel from my Etsy shop took up residence there until she finds a new situation.

We watched our favourite Christmas movies and enjoyed them all. I especially enjoy It's a Wonderful Life and Love Actually.

And we drank our first posh hot chocolate on Christmas Eve which was very nice, but we had to tinker with the amounts as they are so strong! Here's a fun little photo with some digital artwork painted on.

Christmas Day started slow as I was feeling low from the moment I got up, but once we started cooking I got into it a bit more and we had a good day in the end.

The food was yummy, and we watched more of our favourite Christmas movies afterwards.

I made Black Forest trifle, which was delicious, even if I do say so myself!

And I was spoiled. Martin did so well with his gifts to me!

He got me a customised lap tray for my tablet/laptop which he designed himself. I love it and it'll get lots of use. I'll use it not only for supporting the laptop while I do digital work, but I'll probably also use it as a felting table, so I'm sure you'll see it a lot in the future!

And he found a wonderful adventure book which we can put photos and things in. I'm sure it'll be full of puppy photos, but we'll have great fun filling it. :) I'm so looking forward to all the nice days we will have, with our little family.

Thank you for being with me this year and I hope you'll come back in 2016 to see what I get up to next. :) Happy New Year!

Love from,
