Bath time fun.

Hello!

Today I've made myself a little strawberry pincushion. I'd been meaning to make one for ages, years probably, so it was nice to finally get that done. :) I'm trying to be more organised and actually do the things that I've been meaning to do! Please excuse the terrible photo, I am longing for spring and lighter days that last past 3:30pm.

It's mainly for the felting needles, normal needles and pins I use most often, but I've also made a place to put my scissors too. I find myself putting things down to drink a cup of tea, answer the phone or to type something before I forget and when I go to pick up my needle or scissors again I struggle to find them! I really don't recommend sitting or standing on any of the above by accident. Not fun.

I've also been making hamsters. These 3 cuties are in my Etsy shop looking for lovely homes. :) A Facebook friend said this photo makes them look like they're singing. :)

And I've finished the special bear I was working on and he is a beauty! I had a huge amount of fun making him, but before I share, let me show you the old version. Below is a bear I made, oh, maybe 5 years ago? It was one of my early pieces. I was interested to see how my style had changed/evolved over the years and since this was always one of my favourites, I wanted to revisit the idea.

As you can see, the style of bear was very different back then. My bears have a standard look now which I love. I don't think I ever intended to make them as they are, but they have evolved on their own. The above had a little polymer clay duck and bar of soap as I wasn't able to make them so tiny back then with needle felting!

The recent one was so much fun and is entirely needle felted. Well, apart from his shower cap, which I have hand sewn. He has a loofah, duck and soap and lots of bubbles!

There was so much more I could do with this one, and I very nearly did! I won't give anything away in case I use the ideas in the future, but I had to stop here as it'd already taken 12 hours, over 3 days. I needed to make other things. :) I love him though, isn't he great? They surprise me so much sometimes! Such a great way to start the year and I hope to make lots more.

He is in my Etsy shop looking for his forever home. :)

In other news: We've not managed any more walks, the weather has been so grim. Martin had a birthday. We've been playing The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess and it's been fun! We're also re watching A Town Called Eureka and loving it. The diet isn't going terrible, but we can do much better. Still listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks sometimes at bedtime and enjoying it so much! I've watched the movies much more than reading/listening to the story, so it's been lovely to be reminded about how much more story there actually was in the books. There's also characters that didn't make it into the films and lots of fun bits of information and better character development of everyone. Dumbledore is still my favourite and always will be.

Thanks for reading. :)
