Hello and Happy Valentines Day. :)
My week started with a lovely wool order arriving! I'd planned to start an Orangutan but ended up having a play with the new stuff instead so he never got made. He's on the list for Monday again though... Maybe. ;)
They are man made fibres but they reflect light so are shiny and pretty. I tried blending a little bit of the rainbow one into some purple wool.
And with it I made a pretty dragons head. :)
It's not the easiest of things to work with though and it is hard to get the ends tucked into the normal wool, so I ended up spending a lot more time than I'd planned on just the head, poking here and trimming there till I was happy. I decided to leave the body plain To save time and for the wings I tried the white nylon mixed with a pale purple wool. His video is below, you can see it play by clicking it. In fact, please treat all photos as videos from now on as most of them will be and it'll mean I don't have to keep mentioning it all the time. ;)
We managed a nice little walk just as the sun was setting one evening and I took a little video because that's what I do now. :) It was lovely and I'm hoping to do lots more of it when I get my health back on track.
Next, I made a little badger for my shop as they are cute and I'd sold the others. I still dislike working with black and white together though! The black fibres always stick to the white and vice versa and I spend so much time trying to make things look neat and tidy. I do love the end result though.
A lovely return customer asked me if I could make her a more realistic style bear and I was more than happy to give it a go as I always learn something from these ones. :) I love making bears, but this was very different from my usual style.
He seems to be very well loved, and got lots of really nice comments!
I took his proper daylight photos today.
I love him and will be making another soon as someone else wants one. :) This one will be heading off to his new home tomorrow!
As for today, my lovely Martin made pancakes and bacon for us for brunch and then enchiladas for dinner. :) We watched a film on Netflix. We got out for another walk too, but I didn't take any photos! It was a sunny (but cold) day and lots of people were out for walks, playing on the beach and in their gardens. Always nice to see!
I attempted a sale in my Etsy shop, but as always, never seem to have much luck! These 2 don't seem to mind that they will be together a bit longer at least.
It's been a lovely day and I'll be back to felting again tomorrow. Possibly the Orangutan finally but might also fancy something less taxing as I'm feeling very tired. We shall see. :) Not long till Easter...
Bye for now,
